Kakamega Care Center
Sukie Rice of Durham Friends Meeting and New England Friends Women will be going to the Kakamega Care Center on April 14. Allen's Neck First Day School has collected some shirts for her to give to the children in the Care Center. The shirts, four bags full, were delivered to Sukie's son, Adam, in Cambridge last Sunday.
Sukie needs a good condition VCR to take with her. Many of us have upgraded to DVD and might have a still good VCR in the basement. She also needs a slide projector and a 120 slide tray.
The Care Center hopes to tie into the Billion Trees Project, sponsored by the UN and under the supervision of Mathai Wingari, the Kenyon Nobel Peace Prize winner. They are looking for a nursery or someone that would help finance this endeavor.
