Monthly Meeting for Business August 22, 2007

Ministry and Counsel reported that Pat Smith is recovering from a fractured elbow. Betsy Acheson's operation has been a success. She is having therapy at Coolidge House, 30 Webster St., Brookline, MA ( 617-975-0714) and may return home as early as Wednesday, September 5. Plans are being made for al fall program on Quakerism. It was reported that Sandwich Quarterly Meeting at Allen's Neck was attended by about 35 people. The children who attended helped Bradie and Diane make ice cream; Deana Chase spoke on the Friends United Meeting gathering that she attended in Africa. Alcoholics Anonymous may hold meetings at Allen's Neck on Tuesday evenings as long as there is no conflict with the Blanket Bunch who make afghans for the homeless on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. The Minister reported that he will be leaving on Thursday, August 23rd to visit his mother in Canada. The 6th and last Summer Conversation was held on Thursday, August 23rd. Peace and Social concerns Committee has been requested to give a report on the Summer Conversations at the next Monthly Meeting. Sharon Wypych reported for the Music Committee: let her know if you have a favorite hymn you would like her to play.
