Ministry and Counsel reported that a Quaker Studies program has been scheduled for this Autumn: date of Quakers and the Bible is Sunday, October 14; the date of Contemporary Quaker Practice is November 11. Many at this Monthly Meeting felt that all clambake decisions should be made at Monthly Meeting. Consensus seemed to be reached on not allowing a person or a group to promote an agenda at clambake not connected with Allen's Neck Meeting. First Day School is planning a Halloween Party on October 27; Service projects are being undertaken by the children. Daffodil planting is planned for this Fall. Peace and Social Concerns is still working with the Fairloom project. Committee hopes that we can have a discussion on gambling at some point. The topic of Sustainability will be considered. Summer Conversations attendance ranged from 45 to 120 persons. The attendance was higher during the 2006 Summer, but the back and forth discussions flourished better this Summer when the attendance was smaller. The Summer expenses approximated $2600 with$1000 going for one-time expenses. The committtee welcomes ideas for future topics. Meeting gave permission to Building and Grounds to make permanent white parking markers on the black top. Permission was also granted for Building and Grounds to investigate the installing of a stone marker in front of the Meetinghouse which would give significant historic dates connected with Allen's Neck Meetinghouse.
