A Reflection on Psalm 139

Oh, God, Thou has searched me and known me...where can I flee from Thy presence?

If I take flight to the frontiers of the morning or dwell at the limit of the western sea, even there thy hand will meet me and thy right hand will hold me fast.
(Snippets from Psalm 139)

The palpable presence of God ever with us - covers, gathers, steadies us, just under the deepest part of our consciousness.

In our heart of hearts

God is Beingness - the I am in Whom we live and move and have our being. Jesus told Nicodemus that the Spirit is like the wind.

We have a soul sail.

The soul is the perceptive heart of the precious gift of life itself and is held in the palm of the right hand of the Divine like a child holds a baby bird.

This is the God that Jesus called "Da Da" in the Lord's prayer, the Presence of care and concern.

Like a shepherd with a newborn lamb.

Friends call this The Presence, the inward Teacher, Eternal Listener and wait in silent reverence to become one with the Presence in the midst.

"Search me, O god, and know my thoughts; test me and understand my misgivings. Watch lest I follow any path that grieves Thee. Guide me in the ancient ways."
