Monthly Meeting News

The second in the Quaker Studies program will be held November 11, at 4:00 pm with a pot luck supper to follow at 5:30 pm. Diane Randall will speak on Contemporary Quaker Practice. The next Allen's Neck Meeting for Business will be a combined November/December meeting to be held on Wednesday, December 5th; Ministry and Counsel will be held Sunday, December 2nd at 11:00 AM. Building and Grounds reported that our well water supply seemed to be faltering, but Bob Butler, at no cost, flushed the gauge and now the water tank seems to fill in good fashion. A detailed plan for a stone marker to be placed in the front of the Meetinghouse which would show significant Meetinghouse building dates was presented. It was suggested that a wooden plaque might be just as effective and more in keeping with the style of the building. Peace and Social Concerns will begin their winter version of the Summer Conversations, Round Table Talks on Sunday, December 2nd. The subject for the February Round Table will be Criminal Justice. The Minister reported that Benigno Sanchez Eppler, our speaker last Saturday, discovered that several from our Meeting might be interested in visiting the Quaker Meetings in Cuba with him. Peter will be leaving shortly to attend a writers' conference in British Columbia. Our minister has been chosen to deliver the Bible Half Hours at the 2008 Session of New England Yearly Meeting next August. The Parsonage Committee presented their plans for replacing the windows at the Parsonage. It was agreed that Home Depot remove the existing windows and storm sash and install new windows.
