Ministry & CounselKevin Kertscher has shared his concerns with M&C as a new attender. This committee encourages others to attend M&C meetings with their concerns. Our July 07 minute on homosexuality has been forwarded to Quarterly and Yearly Meeting Ministry & Counsel. Draft of State of Society will be ready for the February Meeting. Pamphlets on Quaker subjects are now available for all. Committee expresses special thanks to Betty Amaral and Jim Murphy who are leaving the Committee. LibraryItems stored in the library during the holidays now need to be removed to make room for the books. Peace and Social Concerns:Winter Conversations are being held at the Westport Macomber Community House on Main Road. The next one will be on Criminal Justice on Sunday, February 3rd at 3 PM. The Committee is sponsoring a student at the Children's Care Center in Kakamega, Kenya. The children at the Care Centre were sent home before Christmas and there has not been violence in the more rural areas, so they have been safe. Friends of Kakamega from the Durham Meeting in Maine have ATM'ed money to Dorothy, the head of the Care Centre so she can purchase blankets and supplies to the people seeking refuge at the Police station. We will continue to support our Student, Purity. Nominating Committee Meeting approved the following: recording clerk - Michael Harrison. Ways & Means: Darrin Mendes and Nathanial Mendes. Building and Grounds:
Scott Barrows and Ned Newton. Funeral Consumers Alliance:Representatives from the organization may come to speak at one of the Adult Fellowship meetings.
