An important part of Quaker Meetings is the committee of Ministry and Counsel. The functions of this committee is to oversee and nurture the religious life of the meeting, to foster the spiritual growth of the entire membership, and to enhance the community life of the membership. Members of Ministry and Counsel are expected to be regular in their attendance at meeting for worship in order to carry out their responsibilities faithfully.
Members of Ministry and Counsel should be especially attentive to the quality of the meeting for worship. Humility of spirit and confidence that the power of God will work in each person are essential to this service.
Each Monthly Meeting should appoint at least six members to Ministry and Counsel. Appointments to Ministry and Counsel should be carefully considered. Long time appointments may lead to sterile ministry and counseling. Too frequent change may leave the meeting without the depth of spirit that is nurtured through service. Term of office is three years with one third of the members appointed each year.
Members of Allen's Neck Ministry and Counsel are, Pam Humphrey, Clerk; Polly Harrison, Carol Munger, Jean Parsons, and Steven Tripp. Two more new members will be appointed to replace the two that have served their 3 year term.
Any member of the Allen's Neck Family who has any concerns, comments or questions regarding anything about Allen's Neck Meeting may contact these members , knowing that all will be held in utmost confidence.
