That small picture of a Quaker Meeting in our Meetingroom, on the East wall - take a good look at it!
A gathering of Quakers seeking God in the Light while in communion with one another. Men on one side of the room, women on the other side of the room. Then a ray of sun light shines through the window, bright as can be. Just like it does through our window. Can you imagine what it would be like if Jesus came through into our deepest thoughts while we meditated as one?
I'm going back to that other Bright Light and to Jesus where it all started, in my own words.
You know, the Three Wise Men, the shepherds, and the Kings saw that bright light in the sky. The angels told them about the Messiah, the Baby, and to go and see him and bring gifts. (Can you imagine being ordered by an angel to see this miracle child in the manger, called Jesus?)
Later when he was older his parents took him to Jerusalem for Passover. They lost him in the crowds. They found him in the temple talking with the teachers, asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was surprised at how smart he was. Then he spent 40 days in the desert being tempted by the devil. He didn't use any of the powers that his Father gave him and he won! Did he really?
Later in life he talked to people to show them how to be like him. He dealt with rude, obnoxious, untrustworthy people - like the money changers, who taxed others to make money. He told them about the Commandments - to love one another as thyself. But, they stayed selfish. When he turned 33 years old, they took his life! Then he taught us about the spiritual world and life after death. We shold follow His teachings and walk on this planet and love our neighbors and worldly ones.
My Answer is "yes" to all my questions. I thought that Jesus did the right things as a man.
But, how do you think Jesus would rate us if he came through our doors today?
About my message:
While I was reading my message up front Sunday, I could feel this presence overcome me. It was tingling and it gave me the strength to speak aloud so everyone could hear me. I had marked down where I wanted to emphasize my talk. I underlined and put exclamation points where to pause. But when I stopped for that second, who ever was helping me did that, too. Later when I got home to take this all in, I went "whooh! wooh! Aloud to myself! I hope that was my guardian angel helping me. It sure was an awsome feeling!
