Notes from Monthly Meeting for Business
Ministry & Counsel Meeting has approved Jeanne Bird as a new member. Pastor:has invited Arthur Larribee in the fall to perform a workshop on Quaker business practice. Peter will be away from July 7 to the 14. He has invited Robin Webb to lead worship that week. Building & Grounds: The committee has planned a work party at the Clambake Grounds on Saturday, June 28, at 9 AM. Peace & Social Concerns: The first Summer Conversation will take place on Thursday, June 26, at 7 PM at the Apponegansett Meetinghouse. Christian Education:The First Day School made $543 on the chicken Salad Box Lunch on June 22. Finance: Finance Committee has presented a fiscal forecast for the upcoming year for the Meeting's consideration. Parsonage: The committee has divided the list of projects provided at April's meeting and will present further details in the coming months. Newsletter:The 2008 Allen's Neck Meeting Directory will be completed soon. Meeting approved naming Burney Gifford, Lindelle OKeefe and Barbara Richmond to Nominating Committee. Monthly Meeting approved of putting together a small group including Jim Munger, Jim Murphy, and one as yet unconfirmed individual to focus the conversation regarding the proposed Education Fund in Sharon Wypych's name. This group will return with more specific recommendations for consideration next month. Meeting is considering holding Monthly Meeting for Business after Sunday Meeting for Worship, rather than Wednesday evenings.
