Kitchen Renovations

Stan Stopka presided as clerk of Monthly Meeting and noted that this was his last Monthly Meeting in this position. Appreciation for his service was expressed by the Meeting. A new clerk will take Stan's place as announced soon by the Nominating Committee.

Treasurer: The current fund drive is still in progress and approximately 79 donations have been received so far. Parsonage Committee: Regrets were expressed at the resignation of Joe Keith. Ways and Means: Expressed gratitude at the donation of the fish for the creamed cod dinner which was a success, bringing in $514. Ministry and Counsel: has received 3 requests for Junior Membership in Allen's Neck Meeting - Sadie Gifford, Brendon OKeefe and Caitlin OKeefe. Susan Czernicka has requested membership by transfer from Cambridge Meeting.
All were approved by Monthly Meeting. Building and Grounds: Working to find a new stove to replace the current stove. Meeting approved of $4000 for the new stove and repair of floor underneath the old one if needed. Meeting felt they were not ready to purchase new stove until questions have been answered which requires more discussion and research. Library Committee: has 4 DVDs of the 2008 Summer Conversations which may be borrowed. Pastor: new mid-week worship at 6:15 pm, Thursdays. Friday Night Writing Group is still in existence and invites any one to join them at 6:30 pm. Peter addressed the concerns expressed by those questioning his frequent absences from Sunday Meeting for Worship. He itemized his activities and explained that he is part-time and works 20 hours a week. Every 6 or 7 weeks he takes time off, but is always available. He will be absent February 8th. Ruth Bourns will give the message; Jeanne Bird will be on the Facing Bench.
