A letter of appreciation was read from Barbara and David Schultz for the Meeting's hospitality after Gus Gonet's memorial service. The fund drive has ended with a total of 79 donations. Ways and Means: There will be a planning meeting on March 9 to plan the St. Patrick's Day supper on March 15. Peace & Social Concerns: Final expenditures for the 2008 Summer Conversations were presented. Pastor: Peter Crysdale reports he performed an education event at Moses Brown. He is working on bringing some of our older young friends to Pendle Hill in April. A workshop on clerking was held and led by Susan Czernicka in February. There will be a workshop on Prayer in March, to be led by Charlie Howland. Building and Grounds: Preparations for replacing the stove in the kitchen continue. The Meeting approved of an expenditure of up to $4000 for the purchase and installation of a new stove and for necessary repair of the kitchen floor, to be performed shortly after our last Ways and Means supper in April. Funds will be drawn from the Memorial fund. Preparations for painting the Meetinghouse have also begun. Burney Gifford suggested the possibility of volunteers from the Meeting itself
painting one side of the Meetinghouse per year. Library Committee: Betsy Acheson has requested participation from the Meeting to perform various library committee tasks. We will have a further discussion at next monthly meeting toward this end. After discussion, each individual committee is asked to discuss its purpose and performance as a group, with an eye toward helping the Meeting as a whole to function effectively and worshipfully. Meeting approved continuing to meet for Monthly Meeting for business at 10:30 am on the 4th First Day of each month. The special committee for oversight of the Sharon Wypych memorial fund will be meeting this week. Meeting approved of replacing any Styrofoam cups with more environmentally friendly options, while maintaining health and utility standards.
