Meetinghouse gets a new coat

Notes from Monthly Meeting for Business 12/6/09

Pastor’s Report: Meeting approved allocation of up to $600 to send two Friends to a clerking workshop at Powell House this February. Ministry and Counsel: Meeting approved the membership application of Lydia Vincent. Ministry and Counsel will hold three open meetings on Tuesdays January 12, 19, and 26 from 5 - 7 PM at the Meetinghouse, with the purpose of discussing the future of the Meeting once Peter moves on in May. Jean Parsons and Polly Harrison will be stepping down from the committee in 2010. Building & Grounds: The committee is discussing the plans for the grounds in the future, including but not limited to upgrading the bathroom facilities. Meeting has requested that the committee return to us next month with recommendations to improve the bathrooms, with some haste, particularly that of the women’s bathroom. Steve Tripp expects to be finished painting the north, east, and west sides of the Meetinghouse by the end of the year. The committee is looking into plans to address the issue of lead paint in the Meetinghouse. The committee reports that the traffic change made by the Meeting has increased our confidence in the children’s safety. Finance Committee: The Committee has sent the letters for the annual find drive.
