Pastoral Search

Minutes from Monthly Meeting for Business May 23, 2010

Treasurer’s Report: Dick Mason reports that the Meeting will resume paying utilities and phone at the parsonage beginning in June. He has worked with Donald Richmond to take a new insurance policy on all the buildings and ground (including the parsonage and clambake grounds) at a significant savings over our current policy. Pastor: Peter Crysdale thanks the Meeting for the opportunity to work with and for us for the past nine years. Ministry and Counsel: Ministry and Counsel suggest the following time line in our search for a new pastor: In the next few months, we shall rely on the active participation of our members and attenders, augmented by occasional guest speakers. The committee plans to begin advertising for the vacant pastor’s position in the late summer/early fall. During the winter and spring, the meeting should begin to conduct interviews, hoping the process will bear fruit soon after. Further Business: Meeting approved a request to give $10,000 to support an educational opportunity for one of our young members. This will allow the individual to meet a larger overall tuition bill, which will be supplemented by several outside sources.
