Our Search Goes On

Minutes from Monthly Meeting for Business September 26 , 2010
Treasurer’s Report: Dick Mason reported that the electric stove in the bake house at the clambake grounds needs to be upgraded. Don Richmond will try to replace the current burners. If this solution proves ineffective, a replacement for the stove will be sought. Dick submitted a report on the overall cost and income from the bake. Meeting approved keeping the cost of the tickets to the clambake at $45.00 for adults and $20.00 for children for 2011. Christian Education: Meeting approved the hire of a youth pastor at a rate of up to $8000 per year. Additionally, meeting approved of a $500 budget to search for a candidate for the position. Christian Education will conduct the search and return to the Monthly Meeting with any prospective candidates. Meeting approved of placing a tether ball set just to the west of the cemetery wall. Ministry and Counsel: Bradie Metheny submitted materials for individuals’ review regarding the Meeting’s search for a pastor. Finance Committee : The committee is preparing for the annual fund drive; the Meeting approved of the gift request letter for the fund drive as read by Robin Webb. Also, the committee is working on attaining federally approved charity status for the Meeting.
Members of the Meeting discussed the problem of garbage build up in the kitchen . We all know that this attracts mice and ants. It is everyone’s responsibility to carry their own trash home with them. No matter how little the amount is.
