Visiting is a Ministry
In our Society, visiting is a ministry in which many should share. It should not be restricted to any official body in the meeting. It cannot be neglected if inner fellowship is to flourish. Any group within the Society of Friends who have ever tried to establish a new meeting or to revive a dying one know that the first essential is to visit, and the second essential is to visit, and the third essential is to continue visiting. These visits help to draw the meeting for worship into a basic fellowship that can yield to the Spirit. If the members of the meeting know of difficulties that one or another in their midst may be facing, they can literally draw on the bank of God’s healing power for that member.

Ministry and Counsel would like to establish a Visiting Ministry at Allen’s Neck Meeting. We need input from Friends who have done this in the past and those who would like to add this dimension in their lives. Please come to a short meeting during coffee hour on February 27, for a discussion and an exchange of ideas concerning a Visiting Ministry.
Sunday Dialogue
On the Second Sunday of January Bradie invited us to participate in a “Sunday Dialogue”. It was a cold, wintry day when approximately 12 or us gathered around the cheerful fireplace in the social hall for an open discussion. The subject Bradie had chosen was Rufus Jones and his writings. Neither the subject nor the format are fixed. Bradie is open to all suggestions for topics and any one who wants to lead a discussion is welcome. The next Second Sunday is February 13. See you there!
