Letter from Dawn and Steve
First Day School continues into the spring. Weve been so encouraged to see parents in Meeting while their children are in back. We are also grateful for the ongoing support we have received from Monthly Meeting. We are going to be ordering new books this summer, so we can build a stronger childrens library.
Over the past several weeks, we have read and discussed the 23rd Psalm. We posed the question, "How does God change the world?" and the children made imprints of their hands in paint on pages that will be in their books. You can also see their handprints as well as the question designed by the children on the new bulletin board in the social hall.
Over the next several weeks, the children will be putting their books together, which will include all of the artwork they have done over the past year as well as composites of the replies to the four questions which the adults wrote during meeting-for-worship with Peter.
Another project we have just begun with the children: We are having them design greeting cards to send to Friends who, for health reasons, have been unable to attend Meeting for worship. We hope that this project is something we can continue throughout the year.
On June 19th , Frances and Hannah, two members of our First Day School, will be delivering a short presentation on George Fox in Meeting for Worship.
