Notes from Monthly Meeting for Business 4/27/05 Meeting approved of Christian Education Committees request for a picnic table for First Day School outdoor activities. First Day School will continue during the summer. Meeting also approved $100 towards more shelving in back hall to store First Day School Supplies and $100 for a bulletin board. The Christian Education Committee is working on a long term curriculum and considering asking advice of someone with Religion Education Training. The Parsonage Committee will meet to decide on any recommendations for sewerage work and report their advice to us. Recently roots were removed that were clogging the line to the septic tank.Peace & Social Concerns had two meetings with New Bedford Meeting led by Greg who is leading a workshop focusing on violence in New Bedford ; also, these meetings are concerned with global peace. Another meeting, to which all are invited is a pot luck supper, May 20th at 6:30. Inter-Church Council will be having their annual meeting at Allens Neck, June 16th; 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Members of the Meeting will be needed to assist in Parking, prepare appetizers, and help set up tables and clean up afterwards. Meeting approved of reimbursing Margie for cost of maintaining Allens Neck Web site. The Library Committee reported that the computer setup is near completion. To prevent mold on the books, the door to the library should be kept open. Peter reported that Gil is in the hospital and wants to hire someone to do his yard work. (Call Peter). Stan and Steve accompanied him to a Pastors Retreat. All recommended that next year others attend this three-day gathering. Peter will be in Atlanta in late May to help that meeting find its way. He will lead a three-day workshop at New England Yearly Meeting this summer. |
