Notes from Monthly Meeting for Business 9/28/05 Jan from Seattle will lead a workshop at Sandwich Quarterly Meeting in S. Yarmouth on Saturday, October 22 and at Allens Neck that evening. Yearly Meeting clerk, Christopher and his wife, Jean visited us recently and Jean helped us at the last Ministry and Counsel Meeting as well as at First Day School. Friendship Committee reported visits, cards and food delivered to several Friends. In lieu of flowers the Committee decided to donate $75 for purchase of Childrens Books for Allens Neck Library in memory of Virginia. Others may contribute also. Building and Grounds reported a new pole and electric line going in at clambake site. Peace and Social Concerns reported that Cheryl of Lees Wharf donated frozen fish to Market Ministries and the Veterans Assistance in New Bedford. Fairloom Project is being assisted by a professor and students at UMassD in setting up a business plan. Meeting has approved to have a representative from AFSC come to talk to us about the Peace Testimony. Help is needed from members for the spaghetti dinner held for the Crop Walkers at Allens Neck at 4 PM. The Walk is a fund raiser for Hunger. It is not too late to join; it begins at 1:30, Sunday, October 2nd at the Way Back Eddy. |

Jan will lead a special program at the Sandwich Quarterly Meeting on Saturday, October 22, at South Yarmouth Meetinghouse on Cape Cod. Her workshop is entitled Quaker Essentials: Gifts and Ministry.
Jan is a recorded Friends Minister with dual memberships in Wilmington and Northwest Yearly Meetings. She taught religion at Wilmington College, where she served as pastor, teacher and spiritual director. She is the Executive Director of Good News Associates in Seattle, Washington where she resides. Peter has high regard for her!
Potluck at 5:30 PM October 22 at Allens Neck followed by a special program led by Jan, entitled: Blessed Community with a Mission.
All are invited. Child Care will be provided.
Mattapoisett is still collecting stamps; when sold the proceeds will go to Quaker organizations.
Commemorative stamps are especially in demand. Remove stamps from the envelope by cutting carefully around the edges with scissors, leaving a margin so as not to damage the edge. Let Mattapoisett volunteers do the un-gluing part. Put your stamps in the designated box in the front entry way.
NOTE: Newsletters will be distributed after the Worship Service.
