Friends Camp

S. China Maine

Young people from ages 7 to 17 attend friends Camp in 6 age-appropriate sessions. Some campers come from Quaker families but many come from other backgrounds. Youth of all faiths or no faiths are welcome. Friends Camp practices Quaker values of community, equality, integrity, peace and simplicity. Each morning after breakfast a short Worship is held; this is a youth-oriented time for silent reflection and sharing that campers come to appreciate.

Allen’s Neck Ministry and Counsel has allotted funds to pay for half of the tuition for anyone who wants to go to Family Camp or Children’s Camp. Registration time is fast approaching. Talk to Burney or Stan if you are interested.

Library

The Library Committee announced that there are two new books in the library. One Small Blue Bead by Baylor, illustrated by Himler, was donated to the library in memory of Virginia Morrison; a children’s title, but the message is timeless and for all ages.

Another book, Turtle Rock Tales by J.T. Smith (Jean Parsons’ father) has been acquired by the library.
